Turramurra Hardware Store owner Don Wormald is pleased to announce that 2015 marks the store’s 60th year in business. The store has not only survived but it has also prospered in a time when the big hardware chains have dominated the business.

Don believes that Turramurra Hardware’s success has depended on two factors which he believes are the groundwork for most successful retails businesses.

The first factor, has to be to keep your store well stocked and to keep the stock changing on a regular basis. You have to make the retail experience easy and interesting for your first time customers and your regulars.

The second, and most important factor is good personalised service by people who know the products. Because of the huge ranges of products offered in the hardware business, it would be impossible for the average person or even tradespeople for that matter to keep abreast of all the possibilities across the market.
